“Without prayer, we can do nothing. But through prayer, we can do anything God calls us to do.”
– Amy Carmichael, missionary to India

How You Can Pray This Month
We’re continually reminded how much we depend on the Lord—and how meaningful it is to have you standing with us in prayer. There are many things we can plan and prepare for, but it is God who opens doors, softens hearts, and sustains us along the way. Your prayers are a vital part of that work, and we’re deeply thankful for your faithfulness. Join us in prayer this month:

How You Can Pray for Our Family

• Pray for Janaya as she continues her schoolwork, that the Lord would give her a teachable spirit, steady focus, and joy in learning. Ask God to strengthen her mind, deepen her character, and help her grow in wisdom as well as knowledge.

• Pray for peace over our home and over the pace of our days. Ask the Lord to help us not live hurried or distracted, but to walk in a calm and steady way, making room for rest, laughter, and meaningful time together.

• Pray for Joel and Kelly, that the Lord would continue to guide us as we serve, make decisions, and carry the daily responsibilities of family and ministry. Ask Him to give us grace in our conversations, unity in direction, and hearts that are quick to listen and slow to be anxious.

• Pray that our home would be marked by the presence of Christ—that it would be a place of kindness, patience, encouragement, and forgiveness, where each of us is being shaped more and more into His likeness.

• Ask the Lord to keep drawing our family nearer to Himself. Pray that we would abide in Him, trust Him more deeply, and find fresh strength in His Word and His presence for whatever each new day brings.

How You Can Pray for the Thai People and Our Ministry

• Pray for the ministry outreaches coming up this May with the team from The Altar, who will arrive in Bangkok on May 8. Together we will be serving in Bangkok, Chaibadan (near Lopburi in Central Thailand), as well as Chiang Mai and Fang in Northern Thailand. Pray for strength, unity, flexibility, and the Lord’s favor over every part of the trip.

• Please continue to pray for The Altar team from Johnson City as they serve with us May 9–19. Lord willing, we expect to minister to hundreds of children and adults through these outreaches. Ask the Lord to go before us—preparing hearts, opening doors, and guiding every detail as we plan, travel, serve, and share the Gospel. Pray also for good health, safety, and meaningful ministry throughout the entire trip.

• Continue to pray regarding potential fuel shortages connected to conflict in the Middle East. Ask the Lord to provide stability and continued access to fuel here in Thailand, especially for travel and ministry needs, and that any disruptions would remain limited and short-lived.

• Pray for Kelly and Joel as we continue moving forward with the development of the Rhythms in Motion (RIM) website, with Mr. Konchai helping with the build. Ask the Lord to give wisdom, creativity, and smooth communication throughout the process. Pray that the website would be clear, effective, and reflective of the heart behind the ministry, helping the right people connect with the vision and mission of RIM.

• Pray for Police Captain James, his wife Winnie, and their two children, who recently became followers of Jesus. Over the past four years, Captain James was deeply impacted through our Safe Journey outreaches, and through the faithful witness of other believers, he and Winnie turned from Buddhism to follow Christ. They are now being discipled locally by our iServe co-workers and other Christians in the Sanpatong area. Please pray that they would be rooted deeply in God’s Word, grow strong in their new faith, stand firm in the face of pressure or opposition, and experience joy, peace, and courage as they learn to walk with Jesus as a family.

• Please begin praying for our time in the USA this June and July, as we leave Thailand on May 31. We’ll be traveling extensively through several states to connect with supporters, family, and friends. Pray for safety in every mile, good health and strength along the way, and meaningful, encouraging time with each person we see. Also ask the Lord to provide for all the practical travel needs ahead, including car rental, fuel, lodging, and the many expenses that come with a trip like this.

• Pray for greater boldness among Thai Christians in sharing their faith. Ask the Lord to strengthen believers across Thailand with courage, love, and wisdom as they speak about Christ, and pray that many who hear the Gospel would respond with openness and a genuine desire to know Him.

Monthly Reminder (to help guide focused, informed prayer):
We invite you to join our private Facebook group, Intercede for Thailand, at

Thank You

We deeply appreciate your
faithful prayers. Every petition you offer rises before the Lord and strengthens the work He is doing in Thailand. Your intercession truly matters, and we are encouraged knowing we do not walk this road alone. May He surround you with peace, joy, and renewed strength as you continue to stand with us in prayer (Philippians 1:3–5).
